A little bit about me...

Hello,

I am a 5th semester student in the IT - Web Developer program at Moraine Park Technical College. Over the last 2 years I have focused my studies on building a strong foundation in standards compliant Web Development. I have a strong working knowledge of HTML/XHTML and CSS. In addition to these markup languages, I have also taken introductory courses in Java Script, Java, PHP and Visual Basic.

My studies have not only taught me the foundations of these web programming languages, but also provided me with the opportunity to gain skills in e-commerce, database driven web sites, intranet's, project management, graphic design, web redesign, content management systems and network environment concepts.

Part of what makes Web Design and Development so exciting for me is the constant evolution of the field. New technologies, trends, or ways of seeing things through are being deployed every day. To stay on top of it all I know that my learning can not stop when my degree is completed. I take pride in my ability to stay on top of new technologies and self learn their implementation when it is necessary.

 

When not at my computer...

As much as I love Web Design, there are times when everyone must step away from their computers. For me, nothing puts a smile on my face like a warm sunny day. Outside you are likely to find me tossing a ball to my Golden Retriever Kenai, camping with my wife and daughter, or just taking a leisurely stroll along the Wisconsin River in Stevens Point.

Of course I can't spend all of my free time outside, I do live in Wisconsin after all! When not enjoying mother nature you might find me inside curled up with a good book, playing my Xbox 360 or experimenting in the kitchen with a new recipe.
